Learning to identify insects can be a challenge. In many cases it is not possible to differentiate species with the naked eye and even scientists sometimes cannot reach a consensus on whether an insect belongs to one species or another.
But we are not going to discourage you. There are many resources available to learn how to identify the species of the different groups, and here we will compile those that we think you may find useful. Also, don't forget that the citizen science as iNaturalist and Observation.orgThey are also very valuable for learning, as you can upload photos of your observations and receive expert identifications.
